We dream it….. we build it! You dream it….. we build it!
This awesome piece was built by Gary Rafter and made entirely from reclaimed pieces of local history. Each leg was created from 4 different porch posts from 4 different homes in Ghent. The top was made from the ceiling boards from a house in Shadow Lawn and the skirt and shelf were made from an old bard in Pungo!
We are not limited by what you see in our showrooms….. so keep that in mind when you stop by or simply looking at this site or glancing at all the albums we have on our facebook page.
BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING BEHIND THE SCENES AT BOTH LOCATIONS! Can’t wait to share all the exciting creations that are soon to come!
I have been dying to paint the British flag on a dresser. I’m not usually so caught up in trends that I have to copy …. and of course, I hate copy cats. So after trying to find a new approach to this dilemma, I came up with this!
I have to tell you one of my biggest inspirations for doing this NOW was the business card from Foundry in DC. Check this place out! It’s killer!
New stuff on our facebook page! Check it out and thank you for all the feedback and sweet comments.
It’s been a very busy Spring… and we’ve moved a lot of inventory as usual! BUT… for those of you who know me or keep up with Chartreuse on fb….. you know I can’t have things sitting around for long…
SO WE’RE HAVING A HUGE SALE!!!!!!!!! I have furniture that is in storage and in several different places down the coast that I have to make room for…. Tune in to our facebook page and see the savings later this evening. I’m re-arranging and marking stuff down! I will title the album “May Sale”. BTW…. this dining set will be part of the sale!
We often have clients come in and see a piece they like…. but they’re not sure how or where to use it in their home. The staff at Chartreuse is very helpful when it comes to these questions and I do a lot of consults in and out of the shoppe. However, there are times when a client doesn’t speak up and ask the questions out loud. So……… I’ve spent many hours going thru my mags, Pinterest, books, etc. and found tons of photos using the items we have “in house” here at Chartreuse.
Most everything we have in the shoppe is one-of-a-kind, so the photos are examples of similar pieces. We also want our clients to use this board as inspiration for a custom piece they may want us to build. And, don’t forget… you may have a piece at home that is similar……… and you’re tired of it….. so the board may give you an idea of how to make your old piece NEW!
I’m having so much fun on the road and I’m finding so much inspiration all around me! I have some new places to check out and I’m going to a new auction house next weekend. It’s looks pretty fun and I expect a lot of “southern style” !!!!
Please feel free to call or email me while I’m on the road……. I’m probably gonna need a semi to hall the lute back! But there’s always room for one more piece…. even if I have to strap it on top of the truck!
All next week Chartreuse will be having a HUGE SALE! Furniture, chandeliers and home decor will be marked down considerably! It’s been a great December and I want to finish it off by clearing out!
Chartreuse will be closed most of January as I am hitting the road to shop and do a little picking with my mother. So stop by next week and take advantage of my need for constant change! We’ve sold hundreds of pieces over the first 6 months of business and there are still amazing finds; some of which have only been in-house for a few weeks.
Also, I am finally at a point where I can start taking custom orders again. I have openings for furniture painting beginning around the 10th of February. My slots fill up fast and I have a waiting list…. so get on the schedule if you have a tired piece of furniture that needs new life!
Thank you and have a wonderful Christmas and Hanukkah!
